I'm Natasha Williams, a Visionary, Storyteller, Creative Strategist, and the Founder of BLK Chicago.
I created this platform because something was missing: a space where Black experiences in Chicago are prioritized where the things we do, love, and create are at the forefront. Not just when it’s trending. Not just when it’s convenient. But all the time.

I am Chicago. Born and formed here. I've watched this city tear itself open and stitch itself back together. I've seen neighborhoods gentrify and resist. I've been to the funerals and the celebrations, sometimes in the same week. Every version of Chicago has lived inside of me. That's not biography. That's testimony.
bold · unapologetic
Before BLK Chicago, there were fashion conferences I built from scratch to put plus-size women on stages where they'd never been centered. There were creators I helped find their voice. I've always been the one to build the room when the room didn't exist — and I've never waited for permission to do it.
BLK Chicago is that same energy at full scale. A curated city guide, yes. But really a living record where decades from now you can find Black Chicago's joy, culture, and presence documented in real time by someone with roots here and receipts to prove it. I not reporting on this city. I am this city.

I move by faith and by feeling. The ancestors stay in my ear. So when something is divinely timed, I know it and I trust it. BLK Chicago didn't reach our audience people by accident. It grew because the intention behind it has always been pure, integral, and unwavering.
Chicago expands and so do I. That has always been the relationship. What we're building here is cultural. It's generational. And we're just getting started.
