IBUKUN Hip Hop Art & Culture Fest Is Coming to Chicago for the First Time

What Is IBUKUN Fest?

Picture block-party electricity with gallery finesse. On Saturday, July 26, the Zhou B Art Center will transform into a cultural sanctuary as the IBUKUN Hip Hop Art & Culture Fest brings together some of the most exciting voices in music, art, and wellness. This all-day festival is a call to community, a spotlight on mental health, and a fundraiser for change.

Running from 3PM to 8PM, the fest is hosted by IBUKUN Comprehensive Community Services and curated to honor the beauty of Black identity through hip hop, conversation, and creativity. It’s a space to celebrate and to heal, with proceeds supporting mental health programs for underserved youth and families across Chicago.

The Mission Behind the Fest
Founded in honor of the late Dr. Christian Adeyemi Akiwowo, a Nigerian community leader of Yoruba descent, IBUKUN Comprehensive Community Services is grounded in the belief that healing must center fairness, respect, and shared humanity. This festival continues that mission by combining cultural celebration with community wellness. Proceeds will go toward expanding mental health programming that supports youth and marginalized families across the city.
