BLK Chicago exists to address long-standing gaps in representation, access, and cultural visibility within Chicago’s media and tourism landscape. While many platforms claim inclusivity, Black culture and Black-owned businesses are often underrepresented, under-resourced, or treated as peripheral. We center Black experiences while remaining open, invitational, and accessible to all.

BLK Chicago is a Chicago-based media platform and cultural infrastructure focused on civic impact and cultural preservation. We advocate for Black communities by increasing visibility, access, and economic opportunity for Black creators and Black-owned businesses while inviting all audiences to explore, engage with, and support Chicago’s Black cultural ecosystem.
As a guided city voice informed by Black lived experience, we curate experiences across Chicago that reflect the interests of a Black audience and foster cross-cultural participation, connection, and investment while documenting and sustaining Black Chicago’s cultural legacy for future generations.

We envision a Chicago where Black culture is visible, valued, documented, and economically sustained—and where all Black communities are fully integrated into the city’s cultural, creative, and civic life.
